Fergus the tabby was reported to Cats Protection after being seen in Aberdeen. A volunteer scanned him for a microchip, which revealed just how far he had travelled. Using the phone number connected to the chip, the branch called owner Fiona Mutter with the news that her missing cat Fergus had been found. A prison worker had arrived at HMP Parc to find the cat and her six-strong brood nestled in a truck in the yard. A telephone call to CPs Bridgend Adoption Centre saw Kelly Matthews, Deputy Manager, dash to the prison to take charge of the new arrivals. The kittens were taken back to the centre and bottle-fed every two hours while they waited to be reunited with their mother.
