A snuffle mat is simply a web of fleece strips that we hide yummy treats in. The strips are tied into a heavy rubber platform to keep them in place. Dog’s (and even cats) will have to use their nose and brains to solve the puzzle and find hidden treats within. The mat is an excellent tool for encouraging nose work. In April it became legal for all pups to be microchipped. Local authorities have reported that the number of stray dogs picked up by councils has reduced dramatically. According to the Dogs Trust charity, the next challenge is making sure that dog owners keep their pups microchip details up to date. Pit bulls have been banned in Montreal, Canada.
